Inspired by Ayurveda: golden milk mango porridge with adaptogens

Preparation:

Soak the oatmeal the night before or at least for 8 hours in water with a little lemon juice in it. This is important to reduce the phytic acid, which is present in many grains, beans, nuts and seeds. It binds to vitamins and minerals, which impedes their absorption and can cause shortages.

Cook the oatmeal with (vegetable) milk of your choice and add ground turmeric, a pinch of ground black pepper and a bit of cinnamon.

Instead of ground turmeric, you can also use fresh turmeric root and cut it very finely. Careful, because it leaves yellow stains!

Add 1/2 - 1 teaspoon of the adaptogen blend of your choice and stir well.

If you eat the porridge for breakfast, either the I am focused or I am energized blends make a great choice. In the evening the I am calm blend helps you relax and prepare for a good night's sleep.
