Golden milk mango oatmeal porridge with adaptogens

The base is golden milk, also known as turmeric latte: a warming Ayurvedic drink.

Golden milk is known for its healing properties for the body and helps calm the mind. In addition, it is rich in antioxidants, healthy fats and other important nutrients. It helps with digestion, strengthens the immune system and has anti-inflammatory properties.

The main ingredient in golden milk is turmeric, also known as the spice of life, due to its powerful medicinal properties.

This golden milk oatmeal porridge with adaptogens and fresh mango is easy to prepare and you can go all creative with it by adding your favorite fruit and toppings.


Preparation:

Soak the oatmeal the night before or at least for 8 hours in water with a little lemon juice in it. This is important to reduce the phytic acid, which is present in many grains, beans, nuts and seeds. It binds to vitamins and minerals, which impedes their absorption and can cause shortages.

Cook the oatmeal with (vegetable) milk of your choice and add ground turmeric, a pinch of ground black pepper and a bit of cinnamon.

Instead of ground turmeric, you can also use fresh turmeric root and cut it very finely. Careful, because it leaves yellow stains!

Add 1/2 - 1 teaspoon of the adaptogen blend of your choice and stir well.
