The Maca has had an upgrade. Previously you'd find the yellow Maca root in the High Vibeology blends: this is the most famous Maca variety. From now on, you get three types of Maca: in addition to the yellow root, also the rarer red and black Maca.

This versatile plant has an impressive list of properties: 


Maca (Lepidium meyenii) grows in the Andes mountains in Peru at an altitude of about 4000 meters where it has been cultivated for 2000 years. Peruvians have been using Maca for its nutritional and medicinal properties. 
Maca is an energizer on both a physical and mental level, gives energy and increases endurance. It stimulates cognitive functions such as memory and the processing of information.
Maca is rightfully called a superfood thanks to its high nutritional value. It's a complete protein, is rich in calcium, contains 19 amino acids, 20 different fatty acids, 4 types of alkaloids and vitamins such as C, E, B1 and B2.
 
As an adaptogen, it works as a mood enhancer, helps to reduce stress and has a balancing effect on the hormone and the nervous system. Maca has a powerful effect on both the female and male reproductive health as well as the libido.

The different Maca variaties: yellow, red and black

Yellow Maca

This is the most common type of Maca and it is very efficient at increasing resistance to stress and to balance hormones. It has a mood-elevating effect, helps to optimize energy levels and stamina and increases mental clarity.*

Red Maca

This Maca variety makes up about a quarter of the total Maca harvest and has a calming and balancing effect. It contributes to healthy and strong bones * and supports the female reproductive system and libido. * In addition, it has a positive effect on the prostate. *
 
 

Black Maca

Forming about 10-15% of the total Maca harvest, this is the rarest Maca variety.
Black Maca is strengthening and revitalizing. It supports cognitive functions, provides energy, increases physical performance, mental clarity and concentration. Black Maca supports the male reproductive system and libido.* It has been shown to be the most effective of all Maca variaties for optimizing memory and learning skills.
