How do you use adaptogens?

Hoe gebruik je adaptogenen?

Adaptogens are still a new concept for many people. Although these plants, herbs, mushrooms and roots have been used for hundreds and sometimes thousands of years, only in recent years have we been (re)discovering them in the west.
And that's great, because they can do so much for you.

With an increasingly busy life filled with all kinds of stimuli, people are more often looking for natural ways to support their physical, mental and emotional well-being.
Adaptogens are very suitable for this because they can bring balance in a personalized way, there where you need it the most.
They can help you deal with stress better, improve your sleep, increase your concentration and memory, provide more energy and stamina, stabilize your hormone system and lift your mood.

Below you can read everything about how to integrate adaptogens into your routine in the best way, their optimal use and dosage.

Composition

High Vibeology blends are made from plants, herbs and mushrooms, from organic harvest and wildcrafted* (Astragalus and Chaga *).
The ingredients are 100% natural and free from additives such as preservatives, fillers, anti-caking agents, flavors etc.

This results in very high quality products that do not put a burden on your body with all kinds of chemical components as is the case with many supplements.
This increases effectiveness, promotes absorption and helps you get the most out of the adaptogens.

The blends are vegan and free from sugar, gluten, lactose and soy.

Use

The great thing about herbs in powder form is that you have a very pure and potent product with many variation possibilities.
Supplements in capsule or pill form can only be swallowed with water or another liquid, but herbal blends can be added to all kinds of food and drinks.
This elevates your sense of enjoyment when taking them and it is also much more natural for your body to absorb something in the form of food.

How do you use adaptogens? You can add the blends to cold and warm dishes, both sweet and savory.
Adaptogens have an herbal, earthy taste of their own, which is very easily taken over by the taste of the food that you mix them with.
This also allows people who do not like the taste of herbs to use them.

Here are some ways to use adaptogens in your food and drinks:

Drinks: in your tea, smoothie, latte, chocolate milk, coffee, fruit juice, moon milk etc.

Food: in your oatmeal, yoghurt, pancakes, chia pudding, in baking recipes such as muffins and cake, in snacks such as bliss balls, granola, salad dressing, fruit salad, desserts such as popsicles, soup, stir-fry dish, etc.

Absorption

For optimal absorption of nutrients and to get the most out of the adaptogenic properties, it is best to take adaptogens with some healthy fats such as coconut products, nuts, avocado or olive oil.

Dosage

It is often believed that natural ingredients only have a subtle effect, but make no mistake! Herbs and mushrooms can be very potent, so start with a small dose and build it up slowly.
Start with half a teaspoon and see how you react to it. This may be enough for you or you may notice after a while that you would benefit from a larger dosage. You can then build it up to 1 teaspoon or to what resonates with you.

We are all unique people and our needs are also constantly changing, which is why we don't thrive from a ‘’one size fits all’’ approach.
Always listen to your body, it knows what it needs.

Frequency and duration

For best results, use adaptogens regularly, preferably daily or several times a week, in small quantities and over a longer period of time.

It's generally acknowledged that adaptogens require at least 3 months to get to their full potential. Most people notice a change in how they feel much sooner, but this is very personal and depends on your individual situation and lifestyle.

Time of day

Adaptogens adapt to your specific condition and needs, which is why they work in a unique way for everyone.
The blends are formulated specifically to support the natural physiological processes of your body and your biorhythm in optimal way. Therefore the following recommendation:

I am calm and balance my emotions: you can use this blend all day long and it's especially pleasant when you want to relax after a long day and before going to sleep.

I am energized and sustain my power: this blend is great to start your day with and for use throughout the day, before doing sports or engaging in any other physical / mental activity.
Use in the evening is not recommended, as it may interfere with falling asleep.

I am focused and expand my mind: this blend is also very suitable to start your day with and for use throughout the day. It is especially suitable during increased mental activity such as presentations, meetings, exams, workshops and study.
Here too, use in the evening can make you fall asleep less easily.

Combining

You can use several blends at the same time, but give your body time to get used to the adaptogens.
Starting with 1-2 blends is ideal. In this case it's best to use half a dose at first, so 1/4 teaspoon per blend instead of 1/2 teaspoon and then build it up.

Some people prefer to order all three blends at once and that is fine, just be mindful about your use. In general, different adaptogens reinforce each other mutually, but start slowly with them either way, with 1-2 blends as a base. You can then use the third blend for temporary support whenever you need it.

You can combine the blends in one dish or take each one separately during the day. For example a smoothie with I am energized and afterwards a chia pudding with I am focused in it or a moon milk before you go to bed with I am calm.
